The Afro-Caribbean Black Mentorship Program (ACMP) Inc. is committed to empowering Afro-Caribbean and Black (ACB) youth and communities by fostering educational achievement, professional development, and social well-being through culturally grounded mentorship and inclusive programming. We create affirming spaces that center Afro-Caribbean histories, identities, and lived experiences, while equipping participants with the skills, networks, and confidence to thrive. Through intergenerational connection and cross-regional collaboration, ACMP advances equity, strengthens community, and cultivates leadership across Canada, the Caribbean, and the global Black diaspora.
Our Mission

ADAM MUSAH, UofM
“I am excited to say that it was learning and motivating moment for me for being part of the Black History Month event. Being a new comer in Winnipeg, I felt at home on that day, I felt like I had visited Africa my motherland on that day. I got motivated especially from the series of performances and speeches form the different invited guests, that, being black cannot prevent me from achieving my goals in life.”

Joshua Adesida
“My first barbershop talk series was genuinely something for the history books, not just because I won something on my first shop series. It was a space where young black men could listen, share the mic and talk but also critique and strive for a better future in this world. The discussion was spearheaded by Dr.Clarke. The thing I appreciated the most about him and the way he handled disagreements was his respectful way of addressing the ideas and not the individual, but he was also able to stand firm with his words and beliefs for the emancipatory message for all of us under these systems. I also saw my younger brother there, and we didn’t know each other was going.
Special thanks to Kevin Tachie for the resources and our conversation, and for encouraging and welcoming me. I truly appreciate it.”

JUANITA DESOUZA-HULETEY
“Black History Month has grown tremendously, and it was incredible to witness this year’s success. A huge thank you to the organizing committee for all the great work, especially for incorporating so many youth—this is exactly what we need to keep doing. The focus on community, leadership, and even addressing mental health made a real impact.
The turnout was amazing, with greater recognition and stronger community engagement. Seeing key leaders, institutions, and major sponsors come together to celebrate and uplift Black excellence is inspiring, and I know this will continue to grow. Grateful to be part of it.”
Ways To Support Our Mission
Volunteering with ACMP allows you to pour your experience back into the community by supporting students at every academic level. Volunteer!

Merch!
Buying our merch is one of the most straightforward ways to support the work we do. Instead of a one-time donation, you’re getting something quality to wear or use, while the proceeds provide us with the flexible funding we need to keep our programs running. It also helps us get the word out—every time someone asks about the design, our mission reaches a new person. It’s a simple, practical way to contribute to the cause without any extra fuss.

Events!
Sign up for an ACMP event to help us drive the mission forward. Whether it’s a local meetup or a virtual session, your presence provides the momentum and support needed to sustain our programs across the globe. Every ticket and registration goes directly toward equipping our students with the tools they need to thrive at every stage of their academic and professional journeys.
